Bon Jovi’s 1st Professional Recording Was a Star Wars Christmas Song

He made $180 for about 20 minutes of work.
The year was 1980.  The world was still years from having Jon Bon Jovi as a household name.
A producer working at the same New Jersey radio station as Tony Bongiovi (Bon Jovi’s cousin… Bongiovi, get it?) needed a higher pitched voice to sing on a Star Wars rip-off Christmas album.
Tony called cousin “John,” and the young Bon Jovi cut his first professional recording on a song called “R2D2 We Wish You A Merry Christmas.”  Really.
