Kelowna has a new mayor
Colin Basran is out, and Tom Dyas is in as Kelowna’s new mayor.
Dyas posted a decisive victory over two-term mayor Basran, garnering 62.2 per cent of the votes (21,110) to Basran’s 10,821 (31.9 per cent) in a five candidate race.
It was Dyas’ second attempt to become mayor after a failed effort in 2018. He founded TD Benefits in 1987 and has operated the business in Kelowna since 2001. He also previously served as president of the Kelowna Chamber of Commerce.
