Man arrested after attempting to flee from police
Kelowna RCMP were able to stop a dangerous driver who tried to flee from police.
Mounties responded to reports of a man driving a black Ford Escape who fled from police and was driving dangerously on several streets including Ethel Street and KLO Thursday, Oct. 24.
During the incident, officers reportedly observed several vehicles having to avoid collisions with the suspect vehicle.
Police also said the Escape narrowly missed an elderly woman walking her dog on Ethel Street.
Police tracked down and arrested the man, 24-year-old Jaskaran Lidder, who is from the Lower Mainland.
Lidder was charged with Flight from Peace Officer and Dangerous Operation (of a motor vehicle), and remained in custody pending a court appearance Tuesday, Oct. 29.
Police asked that anyone who witnessed the erratic driving and had yet to speak with police contact the Kelowna detachment at 250-762-3300 and reference file #2024-62955.
