Rotary Beach Park in Kelowna is about to get an upgrade to its irrigation system.
The City of Kelowna says construction will begin on Monday, March 25, on a $170,000 project to modernize the park’s aging irrigation infrastructure.
The project should be done by early summer and the park will remain open throughout construction and all site amenities will remain accessible.
The first work will be to replace the irrigation system north of the washroom, followed by replacing the system south of the washroom.
“These upgrades will extend the life of irrigation equipment, reduce maintenance costs and, through the use of modern flow sensing technology, reduce water consumption,” a city news release stated.
