David Eby will reportedly announce he will be running for the BC NDP leadership later today.
Global says the province’s attorney general will make the announcement at an event in his riding of Vancouver-Point Grey tonight.
Eby would be considered the front-runner to replace John Horgan as leader, and would also become premier if he wins the leadership in December.
The 44-year-old lawyer would become the first official candidate to run for the post.
Among the current NDP cabinet minister to decline a run for the party leadership are Katrina Chen, Nathan Cullen, Adrian Dix, Rob Fleming, Ravi Kahlon, Bowinn Ma, Melanie Mark, Josie Osborne and Selina Robinson.
