The Rona stores in Vernon, Kelowna, Penticton and Kamloops will not be affected by upcoming closures announced by the parent company.
U.S.-based Lowe’s is closing 34 of its Rona or Lowe’s stores in Canada that are said to be underperforming.
The company says the Rona locations in Osoyoos and Surrey-Newton will shut down in January, while the Lowe’s in Prince George will close in February.
The company isn’t sure how many employees will be affected.
The latest closures are on top of those announced one year ago at 31 Canadian locations including a Rona outlet in New Westminster.
